There are many gardens and houses to visit for instance the famous EdenProject, in addition there is the Lost Gardens of Heligan and similarly Trerice Gardens. All within a short drive are a few of my favourites for a special day out. Take boat trips from Padstow in search of dolphins and other marine life. Short ferry rides to Rock from Padstow, beach walks along Daymer and countryside walks in Cardinham Woods exploring the tranquil woodland.
Point Break is just a few miles from the pretty harbour town of Padstow. Home to the galleries, well known eateries of Paul Ainsworth and Rick Steins, among tearooms, Cornish Pubs and delicious ice cream parlours and pasty shops!
Watergate bay and Mawgan Porth are two beaches within a 10 minute drive. Explore many more stretching along the coastline, most welcoming our four legged friends. Cycle rides along the camel trail from Wadebridge, an adventure not to miss. Arriving in Padstow, this flat cycle suits everyone, book trailers for dogs, buggies for little ones, tandems for those learning and more!
Surf Watergate is Queenwood Holidays partner for surf schools in North Cornwall. Located on Watergate bay, from Wax Restaurant the instructors are fantastic and have taught our kids for years. Fun, friendly and highly recommended.
Mawgan Porth Beach, minutes from resort with a huge expanse of sand with great surf and a stream running through it. Great for families, perfect for dog walks all through the year and great cafes, restaurants and beach shops on hand.
For the ultimate day, hire a bike at Bridge Bike Hire in Wadebridge, cycle the level 3km route along the stunning Estuary, arrive in Padstow, then secure the bikes, walk around the Harbour town and enjoy great food and even an ice cream with views over to Rock.
Caffè Rojano of Padstow, part of the Paul Ainsworth group serves a menu of seasonal small plates, beautiful Napoletana-style pizzas and fresh pasta dishes. A fun and relaxed restaurant. Positioned just by the Harbour, its perfect to enjoy a walk around the pretty streets of Padstow.
For a local Vineyard look no further than the picturesque Trevibban Mill, just a few miles towards Padstow, award winning wines and vineyard views to enjoy wine-tasting or their tasty menu.
Book a gin tour and learn about the unique botanicals used, the characteristics they each bring to the mix; hear about special processes behind the production; and finally go you on a delicious tasting flight through the core gin range.
